Postgate setting career pathways for tamariki
Another successful Careers Event was run on Thursday 2nd November.
It was a Postgate School-Pacific Advisory Group initiative, presenting a variety of career pathways in our local community to their Year 7 and 8 students.
The senior block was set up with booths for the exhibitors and students rotated around asking questions they had
pre-prepared. Exhibitor attendees on the day were: Mayor Mike Tana and Deputy Mayor Izzy Ford, a team from the Royal New Zealand Police College, Youth Coaches from Partners Porirua, Whitireia Community Law Centre, Motorcycle Mechanic and Porirua City Councillor Dale Williams, a CCDHB nurse, Kylie a fitness trainer, Westpac bank, Downers, a DJ and a Barber.
Exhibitors and students were highly engaged for the 2 hour duration with many meaningful discussions taking place.
A huge thank you to all those who attended, taking time out from their busy schedule to make learning and thinking about the working world an exciting time for the students.
