Successful apprentice got his start at ‘Tradies’ meet and greet!
A finalist in the 2022 Outstanding Young Employee awards, Jacqui Edwards, Youth 2 Work Workforce Development Manager, says Max is an awesome young person.
The awards are held by the Porirua Youth 2 Work Movement annually, with the team delighted to see Max doing so well after first connecting with him while still at school.
Jacqui says Max first came in contact with Higgins at a Youth 2 Work Tradies Meet and Greet event in 2021 as an Aotea College student.
“He was one of four young people taken on by Higgins and has done exceptionally well,” says Jacqui.
Kiri Croasdale Higgins Talent Acquisition Business Partner says Max has demonstrated a great work ethic from day one.
“He is enthusiastic and brings an energy that lifts the team. Max is a team player, each day he is keen to get stuck into everything, keen to learn and always supporting and helping the team to the job done.
“He has already become the drainlayers right-hand man, relied on to help get the job done. Such progress and mana within the team in such a short space of time is a testament to both Max’s work ethic, competency and attitude,” says Kiri.
Hooking into the Porirua Youth 2 Work Movement network and its Tupu Rangatahi service also helped Max get his restricted driver licence, a great asset in his new job, says Jacqui.
