Donations Help Porirua Rangatahi
Our free service for Porirua rangatahi is made possible by your generous support. As a not-for-profit organisation we rely on grants and donations to help deliver services that prepare young people for the working world.
Contributions from our partners, funders and donors allow us to help thousands of young people every year. Your donation helps us:
- support more rangatahi to get their driver licence and/or get ready for work
- provide personal care packs for young mums and rangatahi in need
- recognise achievement through the Porirua Youth Awards or the Young Employee Awards.

Community Driver Mentor
Learning to drive opens the door to employment and independence helping to prepare young people for the working world.
Volunteer as a community driver mentor on the Partners Porirua Drive 4 Life programme and you’ll help to make this happen.
Young people often struggle to gain their licences because of the cost, poor access to vehicles or experienced drivers to help them practise, and a lack of confidence in progressing through the stages of the licence pathway.
That’s where you come in! Driver mentors are volunteers trained to supervise and encourage positive driving habits on our roads and in our communities. Our mentors love being involved.
We’d love to have you on board. You’ll be patient and a confident driver and you’ll also need to:
- be 25 years or older
- have held a full licence for 2 or more years
- be available for 1-3 hours per week
- pass a Police check.
In return you’ll get:
- training from qualified driving instructors
- ongoing support from our driving team
- use of our vehicles to support your mentee
- the chance to make a real difference!

We are a locally based not-for-profit organisation which is looking for special community minded people to join our Board of Trustees and help us to enrich the lives of young people in Porirua.
You’ll have a passion for helping young people to thrive. You might be involved in business, education, youth employment, training or just want to see rangatahi do well in society.

Expressions of interest for these two positions have now closed, however, you are still welcome to express an interest for any future positions that become available. Read on below to find out more, then click the ‘Express your interest’ button and fill in the form.
Do you:
