Te Puni Kōkiri – Ministry of Māori Development
Te Puni Kōkiri (TPK) is the lead policy agency to Government on Māori wellbeing outcomes. As a Ministry it does this in three ways:
- leads policy and legislative work that affects Māori wellbeing outcomes
- influences the work of the public sector by working in partnership and bringing Māori voices to decision-makers
- invests strategically with whānau, hapū and iwi to pursue opportunities that lift wellbeing outcomes for Māori.
Commitment to youth
The role of TPK is to lead, influence and invest strategically for whānau Māori across the spectrum including rangatahi.
